One mission of this administration is to keep our members informed on what is happening within the Local.

705 and the freight companies which belong to TMI (Holland, Roadway, and Yellow) are negotiating a Successor Agreement.

TMI employers continue to insist that a $2.20 per hour increase in wages, over a period of 5 years, is a very LUCRATIVE wage proposal. The $2.20 averages out to be $0.44 per hour per year, which is a less than 1% wage increase per each year of the agreement.

To help our members better understand these documents, here are some explanations:

Underline All underlined words are to be added to the Agreement
Strikethrough

All words with a line through them are to be deleted from the Agreement

The notations below appear in the right margin of the Local’s documents:

ER PPL the Employer has proposed changes in the language of the Agreement
New UN PPL the Union has modified its original proposal with different language
NID there has been no proposal by either party to change the language of the Agreement on that section
OPEN there is a proposal to change the language of this section and the other party has not agreed to it
TA'd there is a proposal to change the language of this section and both parties tentatively agree to that change
UN PPL the Local proposed changes to the current language of the Agreement on its initial proposal

We hope that this helps you to better understand the negotiating process.
